Our Topics

What concerns us:

These eight areas reflect not only the diversity of our member organizations, but also the lived realities of all women we represent. Women’s policy issues evolve over time and priorities shift. We continuously strive to engage with the most current topics.

Work and Social Affairs

Equal work, equal pay: every woman must be able to live from her own employment and have access to fair wages, social security and childcare. Real opportunities and security for women in the labour market are essential.

Reproductive Rights

My body, my choice: every woman must have the right to decide for herself whether she wants to have a child or not. Access to safe and legal abortion must be ensured everywhere.

Protection from Violence

No violence: every woman has the right to live a life free from violence. Access to protection, support and effective measures against violence must be available nationwide and at all times.

Family

Women must no longer carry the main burden of care and unpaid care work. Fair framework conditions, equal opportunities and social security are the foundation for this.

Migration

Women on the move who are fleeing need protection, safe routes and the possibility of family reunification. Migration policy must be gender-sensitive and must not come at the expense of women and children.

Sex Work

Sex workers need protection from violence and discrimination as well as social and legal security. Instead of pushing them into illegality, the focus must be on self-determination and safety.

European Women’s Lobby

The European Women's Lobby (EWL) is the largest umbrella network of women's organizations in Europe, bringing together more than 2,000 organizations working to advance women's human rights and equality between women and men in cooperation with European institutions.

Women 4 Advancement

The Women4Advancement project aimed to strengthen women's political participation in Europe. In cooperation with Romania and Lithuania, the Austrian Women's Ring collected good practices in several project phases and developed concrete policy recommendations to monitor and strengthen the representation of women in political decision-making processes.
